Vicente Del Bosque remains calm despite some of the problems
besetting the Spanish national team. For the upcoming World Cup
qualifiers against Finland and France, two of his key men, Xavi and
Puyol, have fitness issues. In spite of this, he is confident. "We have a
sound team," he says.
"They will respond very well. We need to focus on Finland first." he said. Just days later, they’ll face 'Les Bleus', and this match could be decisive if they are to defend their title at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. "I’m worried about the match in Gijon on the 22nd. We need to be on good form and get three points," he said.
Speaking at the MARCA awards ceremony where he was awarded the Miguel Muñoz Prize for the titles he's won in his coaching career, Del Bosque said: "You have to bear in mind that it’s not just my work but the whole Federation's".
