Jordi Roura off to bring Vilanova back home

Weekend in New York before returning with Tito

Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira travelled to New York on Friday, and will be making the return trip with someone very special to them – Tito Vilanova, who will at last be coming home to the Camp Nou.
The good news was broken by 'El Mundo Deportivo' and the gesture of his coaching staff to keep Vilanova company during his return flight is a great one that signals the club's intentions.
Jordi Roura had to take charge of the team in January after Vilanova was operated on a month previously, and before that the assistant coach took the team in the last game before the Christmas break in Valladolid.
Tito returned to lead the side up to the 3-2 defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad on January 19th. For the next game in the Spanish Cup against Málaga five days later, Roura was back in charge.
Two months have passed since then and now finally Vilanova has finished his treatment in New York and can return to Barcelona. From now on, as made clear by Zubizarreta in recent comments, it is Tito who will be in charge.
"If he arrives and is in the mood to take training from the start then he can, or if he prefers, he can take it slowly - he'll be the one who decides", the Sporting Director told Rac1 a week ago.
