L'Equipe poll shows 58% of readers would drop Benzema

The digital edition of the French sports daily asked its readers whether Karim Benzema should continue in the starting line-up or be demoted to the subs' bench.

Karim Benzema is the man of the moment in France - but for all the wrong reasons. His disappointing displays with France have put a question mark over whether he should figure at all in Didier Deschamps starting XI. French sports daily L'Equipe, who had conducted numerous polls prior to Friday's game against Georgia, consulted readers once again on whether Benzema should be dropped.
As it stands, 58 per cent of L'Equipe's readers would prefer to see Benzema lose his place in the starting line-up for Tuesday's decisive qualifying match against Spain. Benzema's situation wasn't helped by Valbuena, Ribery and Giroud, who all shone in Friday's win over Georgia.
