Mourinho to decide on Casillas

By on 16:51

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas is now in full-training and ready to return to action. Now José Mourinho must decide whether to start the goalie, keep him on the bench or even completely omit him from the squad to face Real Zaragoza.
A recent survey conducted on MARCA.com, showed that opinion was divided amongst the Real Madrid faithful on whether Casillas should be put back in between the posts.
Casillas injured his hand at the end of January and has been replaced by Diego López – signed as cover – for the last three months, who has made the position his own meaning that Spain international Casillas will now have to wait for his chance to play. However, Casillas believes that he is "over the hard part" and the first step is to make it into Mourinho's squad.
The club captain's first opportunity will be at the weekend, when Madrid takes on Zaragoza at La Romareda stadium. Casillas could return to the squad after a lengthy spell on the side-lines. In his absence, Real has moved up to second place in La Liga, reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and made it through to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. The shot-stopper also watched Spain's recent victory over France from the stands.
The rise of Diego López will make Mourinho's decision on whether to put his faith in Casillas or continue to use Antonio Adán as substitute keeper a difficult one.
