Barça's last minute slip-ups

By on 18:19

Goals conceded in the closing minutes
There have been several games for Barcelona this season which have been five minutes too long. The 'Azulgranas' have dropped seven points in the closing minutes of league matches, which could already have seen them crowned 'La Liga' champions.
Barça has committed the sin of lack of concentration, lack of skill, not knowing how to tie games up, or all three, on several occasions, having conceded goals after the 85th minute against Valladolid (1-3), Málaga (1-3), Real Sociedad (3-2), Celta (2-2) and Athletic (2-2). Although in the first two cases this was incidental as it did not affect the final result, in the other three, it meant losing out on points when the win, or draw, looked to be a sure thing.
The first knock came in the game against Real Sociedad. Barça not only allowed the hosts to come back from being 0-2 down at the Anoeta stadium, it also watched Agirretxe secure the win in the 91st minute. It then went on to lose a further two points to Celta at the Balaidos stadium, with Oubiña levelling the scores in the 88th minute. The third time it limped to the finish line was this Saturday, when Ander Herrera equalised in Bilbao.
Barça would now have four more points to add to its tally, bringing it very close to securing the Spanish league title, even though Barcelona's problem in this area has not only been confined to the 'La Liga' championship.
