Varane in danger of missing cup final through knee injury

Alarm bells started ringing at Real Madrid twenty minutes into the game against Espanyol. Raphaël Varane had to leave the pitch with a busted right knee after an accidental collision with Wakaso.
The French youngster was examined while still on the pitch and it was clear that he could not carry on, as he was limping badly. He was replaced by Xabi Alonso. Although he still has to undergo the necessary tests, the French defender's presence in the Copa del Rey final is looking extremely doubtful.
