Paulinho: "Real Madrid has not phoned me"

By on 23:34

Paulinho's performances in the Confederations Cup are not going unnoticed by the big clubs. Tottenham Hotspur has already made a formal offer both to the player himself and to Corinthians. But other clubs have also been taking an interest in the Brazilian star.
On Wednesday, 'The Times' reported that Paulinho had become the object of Carlo Ancelotti's first request to Florentino Pérez, which comes as no surprise if we recall that the Italian manager wanted to sign him for PSG last January.
MARCA has been able to talk to Paulinho. He was in very high spirits after his goal that helped Brazil get into the final, and talked happily about his future, yet he denied that Real Madrid had spoken with him. "I'm up to date with what has been written about Real Madrid, but the fact is that Madrid has not phoned me. There is no record of any offer", he said.
He had, however, no problems about confirming Tottenham's offer. "It is the only club to have made an official offer. We'll wait for the Confederations Cup to finish and then we'll decide", he added.
Referring to the contacts made between his representatives and the London side, Paulinho has said "this summer there has been interest in their manager and their best player (Bale), but they have made it quite clear that neither of them is going anywhere".
