Sergio Busquets analysed the spell that Barça is experiencing
following defeats to Ajax and Athletic. "What's important is to win. We
want to win well but sometimes that's not possible. We know that we
didn't do well in Amsterdam, but it was different in Bilbao. We aren't
an invincible team. We will have spells like this", he said.
"When you lose it's obvious that there are things that you aren't doing well. That's also true when you win, but in that case it doesn't matter so much. We haven't doubted in our style, in our teammates or in the manager. We know what line we need to follow", he said.
"Things have been taken a bit far. We know that this happens following a defeat, that it's worse after two, and I don't even want to talk about what would happen after three. There are many things to improve on in every game. That margin needs to be there", he explained.
"What matters is that we're still top at the moment. Last year we started well but weren't so strong towards the end. We hope that we're still in a good position in all competitions in a few months time. The style of play is not up for debate due to the type of players we have. From that perspective it's almost impossible to compare with previous years - due to players, opponents, and things that could be achieved before. It's impossible to match", he said.
"Conclusions are drawn after a loss. You need to think, have internal debate and improve for the next games. It can still happen again despite talking about it - football isn't like maths. Conclusions have been drawn, we have talked about things and examined the situation", he said.
"The style is more or less the same. It's not that it works better to play with one player or another on the side. Sometimes you need to change. There's a lot of space and there are teams that bide their time to play on the counter attack. It's harder to keep everything covered", he concluded.
