Conte keeping an eye on Morata

By on 00:48

Álvaro Morata continues to generate interest across Europe, but one coach is said to be particularly taken by the talents of the young Real Madrid forward and that is Juventus' Antonio Conte.

Conte has asked his board to make a big effort to bring the player to the Turin based club even though he is wanted by clubs in nearly every European league. In France, Monaco are said to be interested; in Germany, it is Schalke and Dortmund, whilst Arsenal have shown interest from the Premier League. In Italy, Juve is not the only club with a chance of securing his services; Inter Milan is also in with a shout.

Inter should not be able to compete financially with Juventus who also hold the extra advantage of playing Champions League football next season, something the player is keen to guarantee.

Conte already has forwards of the calibre of Fernando Llorente, Vucinic, Tevez and Osvaldo in his squad, although the latter is on loan from Southampton and should be returning to the Premier League club. Despite that talent at his disposal, Conte has asked for additional money to bring in an attacking player.

First of all, Morata must negotiate his future with his club. His current contract runs out in 2015, and Real will probably add an option to buy back the player if any transfer fee is agreed.

The forward's price is said to be between 15 and 20 million and offers have already been made for the Madrid born player who must now decide where his future lies. A further possibility for him to consider is Arsenal, where Arsene Wenger has been keen on the player since he was in Real Madrid's youth sides.
