Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdés, who was injured at the end of
March, said goodbye to the squad and coaching staff on Monday with a
brief speech in the dressing room. The goalkeeper now travels to
Augsburg in Germany where he will start the second phase of his recovery
from injury.
According to Barcelona-based newspaper, 'Mundo Deportivo', the stopper collected his belongings from the dressing room and said his goodbyes. It is widely believed that the player's next destination will be Monaco once his contract expires this summer.
The club have an event planned for Carles Puyol next Thursday, but it is not yet known how Valdés will say goodbye to the fans. Barça play their final league game against Atlético this weekend at the Camp Nou in a winner-takes-all title showdown.
