BBC return home with just 2 goals

By on 19:07

The tour of Australia and China was no goal rout for the BBC.

In four games, Real Madrid's attacking trio only netted two goals, one of them by Karim Benzema and the other by Cristiano Ronaldo. Both of those came against Manchester City.
Both Ronaldo and Bale started in all four matches and played for longer than any other forward in the team. The Portuguese completed 226 minutes, while the number 11, funnily enough, spent 11 more minutes on the pitch than his teammate.

Benzema's situation was slightly different. The Frenchman began the tour on the bench against Roma, and came on in the second half to replace Jesé. He started in the second match against City and played the first half, as he did on Thursday against Milan, but he did not feature in the third against Inter due to a niggle. Benzema was the most efficient member of the BBC, with one goal in 135 minutes - more efficient even than Jesé, who scored one goal, but spent more time out on the field of play.
