Benzema: "My goals will come"

Karim Benzema isn't having the best of times at Real Madrid right now, but is hoping a trip away with France – for whom he will face Georgia and Spain – will help kick-start a reversal in his fortunes.
The Real Madrid hitman discussed his situation on French television channel TF1's 'Telefoot' programme.
"There are two strikers and we both play every other game. I'm not playing every week, and I play football to be involved in every match. I'm happy when I finish the 90 minutes, just like everyone else. If I play 60 minutes and score but hardly touch the ball, I don't go home happy", the Frenchman said.
However, the forward claims his confidence hasn't wavered. "I don't doubt myself and my goals will come. You always have tricky patches in your career and I've been going through one, but I'm finding my feet and I feel fantastic. There is always criticism in France, but I know that comes with my status".
Despite his goal drought for his country, which he hopes to end this week, Benzema knows his France place is safe while Deschamps is charge: "It's not a burden or an obsession. I've had some bad breaks, but you win as a team and lose as a team. If I don't score this week but we win, I'll be happy".
The 'Les Bleus' fans seem to demand more of Benzema than his fellow French strikers. The Real Madrid marksman has notched 15 goals for his club this season, scoring once every 138 minutes. This compares favourably with the strike rates of Olivier Giroud, who has also registered 15 times (once every 183 minutes), and Bafétimbis Gomis, whose 17 goals have come every 156 minutes.
