Ramos marks 100 games as captain and goal-scorer

Centre-back has scored nine times for Spain
Sergio Ramos celebrated 100 games in a Spain shirt with a sublime individual performance. The Real Madrid defender was made captain due to the injuries to Iker Casillas, Xavi Hernández and Xabi Alonso.
Ramos opened the scoring –his ninth goal for his country– when he headed home from a corner to set the defending World Champions on their way.
The Andalusian player was the centre of attention earlier in the week, as he approached a century of appearances for his country, and also on the playing field, as he led his team into battle.
Ramos also joined the attack on several occasions –just like he did against France at the Vicente Calderón– especially in the later stages of the game, as Spain searched for the winning goal that did not come.
