Reflecting on Real Madrid's 1-1 stalemate at La Romareda, Sergio Ramos said: "We had chances to go ahead, but we weren't as clinical as in other games."
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos was not content with his side's 1-1 draw against Real Zaragoza on Saturday. With La Liga leaders Barcelona drawing 2-2 at Celta Vigo, 'Los Blancos' missed the chance to close the gap on their Catalan rivals as Cristiano Ronaldo's equaliser ensured the spoils were shared at La Romareda. And Ramos admitted: "We can't be happy with this result. We had chances to go ahead, but we weren't as clinical as in other games."
The former Sevilla man, who turned 27 on Saturday, said: "It's great to celebrate your birthday as a Real Madrid player. I just wish I could have done so with a goal, like in my 100th cap for Spain."
Discussing captain Iker Casillas' continued absence from the squad, Ramos commented: "It's the coach's decision. The positive note is that Iker is with us again and in terms of goalkeepers the team is in a very healthy position at the moment. Diego López is playing very well and he has to be congratulated for that."
