Messi trains while Barça take the day off

Leo Messi wants to be in the best physical shape possible for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final decider. The Argentine player turned up at the Ciutat Esportiva on his own accord on Monday to work out inside the gym while the rest of the squad took the day off.
But Messi wasn't entirely alone in the gym. Éric Abidal and Adriano opted to train voluntarily while Puyol and Mascherano turned up to continue their respective rehabilitation programmes.
Even coach Tito Vilanova wasn't too keen on taking the day off and he too showed at the training complex to spend the morning doing paperwork chores inside his office. The full squad will return to the training ground on Tuesday at 17:15 CEST and immediately following the session at 16:00, Vilanova and Gerard Piqué will hold the pre-match press conference at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
