Barcelona FC has announced the €8.2 million purchase
of a patch of land adjoining its training facilities at Sant Joan
Despí, which will mean a 20% increase in the area that the team
currently uses for training.
As reported by the club, the agreement is a "strategic investment". This is a plot of some 26,811 square meters, adjoining the Sant Joan Despí sports complex. The purchase will cost the club €8,270,000, plus VAT, to be paid over the next five years.
The club believes that the bill of sale could be effective in two years' time, which should coincide with final approval being granted for modification from the town planning registry. During this time, the plot of land, which has been owned by the 'El Forn' tennis club until now, will be able to be used.
