Cristiano responds to Platini: "I do my talking on the pitch"

By on 20:22

Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the LFP award for Most Valuable Player on Monday night and then went straight to Terminal 1 of Barajas airport to take a private jet to the island of Madeira.
The Portuguese star flew to his place of birth alongside his mother Dolores, his brother Hugo, his agent Jorge Mendes and other friends with the aim of finalising the details for his museum, which will be opened in Madeira on 15 December.
Cristiano is suspended for Real Madrid's Copa del Rey tie with Xátiva this weekend so Carlo Ancelotti has given him two days off, and he has headed to Madeira to run a few errands. On Tuesday evening he visited the Quinita Vigia, the official residence of the regional president of Madeira, to meet with local premier Alberto Joao Jardim.
Cristiano's surprise visit to Madeira has turned into quite the event for the island. During his stay, he has spoken to the media on a number of occasions. Platini's comments to AS about the possibility that FIFA extended the voting deadline for the Ballon d'Or to "keep Cristiano happy" did not elicit a response frmom the forward. "I don't see it as a provocation. I'm not going to respond. I do my talking on the pitch," he said.
He also wouldn't reveal whether or not he would attend the Ballon d'Or ceremony on 13 January. "On that day I could either be in Spain, Zurich, or even Madeira."
Cristiano returns to the Spanish capital today.
