The Barcelona dressing room is looking forward to its game against Celtic to improve on its performance against Ajax. The players were hurt by what happened at the Amsterdam Arena and the repercussions of their defeat to the Dutch side.
They are aware that since that game, there has been much talk about the decline of a team that has won everything. That setback, coupled with what happened at San Mamés in the league a few days later, opened a can of worms that fortunately for them did not extend to Cartagena, despite going behind early on.
"We have a lot to prove after our last Champions League game," said Alex Song in a statement to official media sources at the Catalan club. That's the general feeling within the group.
"We want to win the match and put in a good performance. I'm calm because we're preparing as eagerly as always, fully focused on putting in a great performance", the Cameroon international added.
Pedro was also convinced that Barcelona would react in Europe. "A lot is being made of this but the team is confident. We're group leaders, we've started well in the cup and we're well placed in the Champions League," he told Al Jazeera Sport.
Barcelona only needs a draw to qualify top of group, although this would be guaranteed if Ajax beats Milan.
