Ancelotti confirms Khedira to return to Madrid in 15 or 20 days

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed in Saturday’s press conference that midfielder Sami Khedira will return to Madrid “in 15 or 20 days”.
Khedira suffered a serious knee injury in Germany’s friendly against Italy in November, and has been working on his recovery in his native country.
Asked if Real Madrid’s improvement with their current playing system had been helped by the 26-year-old’s absence, the Italian was categorical: “That isn’t thanks to the fact that Khedira isn’t here. He’s a player this team needs, because he’s very important.”
Ancelotti added: “His recovery work is going very well. He has started running after three and a half months. Everything is going well and I think that in 15 or 20 days he can be in Madrid working with the team. We hope he can play before the end of the season."
On the competition for places that exists in midfield at Real Madrid, Ancelotti said: “Making a decision without Khedira isn’t easy; with Khedira it’ll be even harder.”
