Diego López: "The league can turn at any time"

By on 17:54

Diego Lopez celebrated his 50th league match for Real Madrid with a win: "We controlled the match at all times and defensively I think we did a great job. We took advantage of the chances we had and could have scored a few more."
The goalkeeper assessed the match in terms of the strength of their rivals. "The team did very well at a very difficult ground where it is really tough to win points. We managed a 0-4 and were clearly superior. Even if Barcelona and Atlético had lost, we would still have needed the three points. Real Sociedad had more opportunities early on but we controlled the game."
He recalled that "at the end of the season everyone is on their last legs and we have three competitions ahead of us. We are in the cup final and it's looking good for a place in the Champions League semifinals. We're going to fight to the very end in the Liga. It can turn at any time and you have to win every game." Finally, on a personal level he commented that: "I'm taking it day by day. I always try to do my best and help the team on the pitch."
Diego López was not overworked at Anoeta. Once again he kept a clean sheet for Real Madrid after not having conceded any goals against Rayo Vallecano.
