Nobody gives up on La Liga

By on 17:52

Atlético, Barcelona and Real Madrid all won their league games ahead of their Champions League quarter-final return legs, and with the Spanish Cup final edging ever closer.
There was no change at the top of the table this weekend. League leaders, Atlético took all three points, as did their closest pursuers, Barça and Madrid. Now the Champions League and the Spanish Cup bring some congestion to the fixtures calendar. Will these two competitions affect the title race?
Wednesday will definitely see another battle between Barça and Atleti at the Calderón. The winner of that tie will not only qualify for the Champions League semi-finals, but could also demoralise one of their closest rivals in the race for the title.
Real Madrid will be looking to see what toll this game takes on both teams and how it affects their upcoming away fixtures. Barça travel to Granada on Saturday (20:00), whilst Atleti play at Getafe on Sunday (19:00). Real Madrid face Almería at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday (22:00).
