Khedira: "I can't think of a better coach than Mourinho"

"He always wants to bring out the best, he finds every player’s strong points and the same happened to me. I think that I’ve improved a lot technically", he said.

Sami Khedira gave an interview to UEFA.com, during which he looked back at his playing career, paying special attention to his two and a half seasons at Real Madrid. The German spared no praise for José Mourinho: "He’s the best coach I’ve ever had and I can’t think of anyone better, because he helps every player to improve".
"He always wants to bring out the best, he finds every player’s strong points and the same happened to me. I think that I’ve improved a lot technically. That was my objective. "When the call came from Real Madrid and Mourinho, I was eager to accept this challenge. I used to be very impetuous and he took that out of my game and made me a better player. Now I’m a calmer, more intelligent player".
Khedira also analysed the team’s improvement in recent weeks: "Since the beginning of the year we’ve been playing better together, more like a team, we don’t let other teams get to us and we’re pursuing the same goal, we’re focussed on our game. We know what our objectives are, that we can’t win the league, but we have the Spanish Cup final on the horizon and the quarter-finals of the Champions League. We’re focussing on those two titles. If we can show again what we’re capable of as a team, I think we’ll be hard to beat".
"The pressure is always there at Real Madrid. Things get tough if you can’t win a title. However, we’re used to it, it isn’t a problem" Khedira concluded.
