Sergio Ramos believes that Real Madrid can stage an historic
fight-back on Tuesday. "We'll do our talking out on the pitch; playing
at home is a plus for us".
"We want revenge for what happened in Dortmund; it's life or death for us and our fans and we cannot wait for the game to start", Sergio Ramos told reporters in Valdebebas on the eve of Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final return leg against Borussia Dortmund.
Incident with fans at the airport: "That bloke wanted his moment of glory. Whether we play well or badly, it's not right to insult us. It was some guy who had too much to drink and he started insulting us and saying some unpleasant things, he was out of order and I just told him to calm down".
Team morale: "We want revenge for what happened in Dortmund; it's life or death for us and our fans and we cannot wait for the game to start and we all want to turn this tie in our favour".
Mou said what matters is football and not how motivated the players are: "He's right. What counts is football and we should do our talking out on the pitch. Playing at home is to our advantage and we know that our fans will be behind us all the way. However upbeat we might feel, it won't be worth anything if we are not focused on the game".
Supporters' part to play: "We hope they give us encouragement and are as excited as we are about this semi-final. Even though we have a poor result to turn around, a place in the final is at stake and that is a very special moment for all of us. I hope they heat the atmosphere up right from the first minute. Anything can happen but we are going to put in the game of our lives out there".
Borussia Dortmund: "They are a great side and so we will need to be fully alert. They have quality in every department, right the way through the team. Their success is down to their collective efforts and not because of the individual talent they have. We have to be extra careful because if they score, it could complicate matters for us. They are an excellent side and have shown that right the way through the season. It's going to be very difficult for us but if you want to make the Champions League final, you have to beat the very best".
Mou describe the team as 'innocent' last week in Dortmund: "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. He has an immense knowledge of football, very few know as much about the game as he does. Calling us innocent doesn't hurt as much as the result we gained last week".
Are you the one who is leading Madrid's battle cry? "Everyone has their own way of confronting a game like this. I'm not sat here so that they pin medals on me. After what happened last week, the players needed to meet up to discuss things loud and clear".
