Abidal: "If they still haven't contacted me it's because they don't want me to continue"

Eric Abidal is starting to see that his future does not lie with Barcelona. The Catalan club still hasn't approached him yet to renew his contract that ends next June. The French player sees this as a clear sign that they don’t want him to continue.
The defender has already voiced his fears aloud in the dressing room of FC Barcelona. Just a few days ago he commented to one of his teammates: "If they still haven't contacted me at this stage of the season, it's because they don't want me to continue at the club".
The only news he has had from the club came from sports vice president, Josep Maria Bartomeu in a recent interview. Bartomeu commented that, according to his contract, if Abidal played a certain percentage of matches, he would automatically be renewed for another season.
Since then the French footballer has heard no more and is beginning to feel his days at Barça are numbered.
On Tuesday his agent, David Venditelli, also referred to the player’s future as being in the balance: "We will accept any decision the club makes. The worst part right now is the uncertainty. We've had a meeting scheduled with President Rosell since February, but we're still waiting."
