Neymar would now cost 75 million

By on 22:17

Any doubts about the profitability of signing Neymar appear to have been cast aside just one month after the player was officially unveiled at Barcelona. His sublime performance in the Confederations Cup alone has raised his value and made his €57 million transfer fee seem like a bargain.
MARCA contacted FIFA agents, who are experts in international football, in order to get first-hand information on Neymar's transfer fee value. Those asked all coincided with the fact that it would now be practically impossible for Barcelona to agree the same fee with Santos.
José María Minguella, who brought Maradona, Stoichkov, Rivaldo and Messi to Barcelona, said that: "the people who understand football always try to close deals before competitions start, because if a player plays badly his value doesn't go down, but if he stands out, the price shoots up".
Minguella firmly believes that Neymar's display would have attracted many more interested clubs and said: "If Real Madrid paid what it paid for Cristiano Ronaldo, it would now offer €100 million for Neymar".
Manuel García Quilón – agent to Pepe Reina, Arbeloa, Albiol, Callejón and Javi García – also shares the same opinion: "Neymar is the best signing they could have made. Now he would cost €40 million more. They did the right thing because of the moment he is in and his quality".
