Juventus, Iker's worst nightmare

By on 00:59

Iker Casillas will keep goal for Real Madrid against Juventus, an opponent which does not hold good memories for him. With Iker on the pitch, the 'Vecchia Signora' has won the last two knockout ties and the last two group stage games when the teams have faced each other in the Champions League.
The first time that Casillas played against Juventus was in the semi-finals of the 2002/03 season. 'Los Blancos' won the first leg (2-1, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and Trezeguet), but crashed out in the return match at the Stadio delle Alpi (3-1, Trezeguet, Del Piero, Nedved and Zidane). This was the match which featured the famous penalty miss by Luis Figo in the final minutes.
Real and Juve clashed again in a European knockout tie two seasons later (2004/05). This time it was in the Round of 16. Once again, Madrid took the first match (1-0, with a Helguera goal), but Juve knocked the Spanish side out in the second leg: 2-0, with goals from Trezeguet and Zalayeta.
The last time Real and Juve went head-to-head was in the group stage of the 2008/09 season. Again Juve came out victorious, both in the match in Turin (2-1, goals from Del Piero, Amauri and Van Nistelrooy), and in Chamartín (0-2, Del Piero brace).
Out of six games played, Casillas' record against Juve is two wins and four defeats, with five goals for and ten against.
