Casillas: "Yes, I see myself being at Real Madrid next season"

By on 15:46

Your run of clean sheets continues.
I hope it continues for a long time. With the players we have and the chances we create, if we keep a clean sheet that means winning games in every competition.
How do you feel about beating your clean-sheet record?
I’m happy, but I don’t think about the record much, either – although the press do remind you about it. It's a record on a personal level, and on a collective level the team avoids conceding goals.
Would you be happier if you played in La Liga too?
Even I’m bored about talking about my situation now. People should just enjoy the players in the team, those who the coach picks in each competition and on each matchday, and that’s that... What I have to do is train as well as possible, firstly for myself and then for the team. And I have to enjoy myself when I play, because it’s a pleasure.
Do you see yourself at Real Madrid next year?
Of course. What I have to do is focus on enjoying myself, because – as the coach said – we’re in all three competitions. Last season we had a very difficult time. Now I hope to get to April with our fate in our hands on all fronts.
And fatherhood?
It’s a unique source of joy. A privilege.
