Dani Alves, Barcelona's right-back, has given his analysis of Messi's
injury and its consequences: "It has been quite a fright, but in the
end not as bad as it could have been. For us it will be a great chance
to show that we're still a competitive team without him. We can get
through with or without Messi, although better with him".
Regarding the game against PSG, The Brazilian said: "We are happy with the result, although looking back at how the game went as a whole we came away with a bitter-sweet flavour in our mouths. I´m happy for how we played. It gives us a better chance as we have scored away, but we still have the return leg and we have to keep up the same level of play."
Alves at first didn't want to stir things up regarding the referee: "Let's not talk about the referee. Football is about the players and the referees should really be left out of it. We're not complaining, they're things that happen in a game, although it's quite clear that they affect the score in the end."
However, towards the end of his talk with the press, he did complain about the referee's inability to see the off-side in Ibrahimovic's goal: "We live in a very competitive environment, and have to play under those conditions. We can't complain, but the people looking outside in, and that can't reprimand them, well they really should complain. It's not possible that an off-side by two metres isn't noticed. We´re not stupid, we're not backward. I´m not going to put on a happy face like others do, not me".
