The Argentine injured himself in the first half of Tuesday's clash in the Parc de Princes and was replaced by Cesc Fabregas in the interval. He will definitely miss Saturday's game at home to Mallorca, but according to the Catalan club after tests on Wednesday, it will be his ‘evolution that decides his availability’ for the following matches, including the crucial second-leg tie against PSG on April 10th.
Within moments of finding out the seriousness of his injury, Messi posted a photo of himself during the medical tests on his official 'Facebook' page with the message: "I´ll be back soon, luckily it’s not too bad. We’re all sorry for Masche and we wish him a quick recovery", in reference to team mate Javier Mascherano.
Messi opened the scoring in Paris on Tuesday on receiving a spectacular through ball from Dani Alves. With that goal he went level with Cristiano Ronaldo and Yilmaz as top scorers in the current Champions League. As well as the doubts over Messi, Barcelona will certainly be without Mascherano for the second-leg against PSG.
