Madrid deny telling Ramos and Alonso to get booked

"There is no controversy, the four yellow cards we received were all very similar," Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka told a press conference on Friday.

Aitor Karanka, José Mourinho's assistant coach, has insisted that Real Madrid did not tell Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso to deliberately seek yellow cards against Galatasaray on Tuesday so they would be guaranteed to play in the semi-finals.
"There is no controversy, the four yellow cards we received were all very similar," Karanka told a press conference on Friday.
Both players were given yellow cards late on in the game, with the score at 3-0, for kicking the ball away after fouls were awarded.
Luka Modric and Michael Essien were also shown yellow cards, but will not be suspended for the second leg.
