A goal from Jesús Navas in the 92nd minute levelled the scores for
Spain to a draw in the friendly against Chile played in Geneva (2-2).
The Chileans went one up early on, through the efforts of Eduardo
Vargas. Spain equalised in the 37th minute with a goal from Soldado,
then Vargas put another past Víctor Valdés before half time.
Goals from Tottenham's Roberto Soldado and Manchester City's Jesús Navas saved the day for the Spanish side, with its game far off that of the last few ties - it being a friendly game with no points at stake too much in evidence.
Jorge Sampaoli's Chilean outfit looked very strong, making things difficult for Vicente Del Bosque's men from the off. With Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal leading the charge, the South American side demonstrated the quality of its line-up.
Spain failed to make an impact on the pitch at any time, except in the closing minutes of the game. Chile took its opportunities to score against Valdés with the reward of a draw against the world champions, which may well have been a victory but for the last-gasp goal by Jesús Navas.
