Real Madrid and Adidas are a step away from signing the biggest kit-sponsorship deal in club football in terms of money per season. The Whites could receive as much as 140 million euros per campaign if all the clauses are met in a package which will break all records. The contract will be for ten years.
The Madrid club will regain the top position that they'd lost to Manchester United after the Red Devils signed a contract last summer making them the club with the most expensive shirt, costing up to 98 million euros a year.
Last summer Bayern signed a 15-year contract with Adidas, until June 2030. The duration may be longer than the deal on the table for Real Madrid, but it is nowhere near as lucrative, being worth just over 60 million euros per year to begin with and increasing to 90 million nearer the end of the contract.
Florentino Pérez has always believed that the Real Madrid shirt is the most valuable in the market, based on sales, exposure and sporting success, although at the moment it is Barcelona who are in front in the final aspect. This new contract will be signed before the end of this season, renewing the one that was penned in 2012 and was due to end in June 2020.
