Can Messi sort out the mess?

By on 16:27

It is perfectly simple: if Barça trips up against Betis, the team will likely have a nervous breakdown, making the remaining weeks seem like an eternity, before Barcelona almost certainly ends up taking the league title by means of pure inertia.
The fact is that, after the whipping at the hands of Bayern, the game against Betis has been described as "very important" by the manager himself. Tito Vilanova replaced Xavi and Iniesta as soon as Robben scored in the Champions League game to keep them fresh. The manager denies that he is panicking, but insists on the logical idea that it is better to secure the title as soon as possible.
Vilanova is still unsure whether he will be able to count on his most lethal weapon: Leo Messi. If there is one player who he can rely on during tough times, it is Leo. The Argentinean played 32 minutes at San Mamés and changed the face of the game as soon as he stepped onto the turf. Barça clearly suffered his absence against Bayern as well.
Whether Messi plays or not depends on how fit the player feels. Busquets is in exactly the same situation, having missed the game against Bayern due to a groin injury. Whether he returns to the fold will depend on his fitness, after not starting in a league game since 17th March against Rayo.
